Presented by: Hindus for Human Rights and BOL Coop

Join Hindus for Human Rights and BOL Coop for a documentary screening examining the events that led to Umar Khalid’s imprisonment and the role of Hindu nationalist media in shaping the narrative against him.

Drawing on footage of Khalid’s past speeches, his close friends Banojyotsna Lahiri and Shuddhabrata Sengupta reconstruct the chronology of his case and examine how his words and public identity were represented.

The screening invites audiences to consider the criminalization of dissent, the power of media narratives and the importance of defending democratic freedoms.
