Across Borders, For Peace: HfHR Joins Diaspora Protest Against Violence in Kashmir

On May 10, 2025, just across from the halls of Westminster, a powerful act of solidarity unfolded in Parliament Square. South Asians from across the diaspora—Indians, Pakistanis, Kashmiris, and others—came together to say no to war and yes to peace.

Organized by the South Asia Solidarity Group (SASG) and supported by Hindus for Human Rights UK alongside several other community groups, the gathering was a clear call for diplomacy, restraint, and justice in the wake of escalating tensions in Kashmir.

What made this moment especially significant was the unity across lines too often drawn in opposition: borders, faiths, political identities. Protesters stood together in grief, in anger, but above all in hope. Hope that our governments will choose dialogue over bombs. Hope that human rights—long sidelined—will be at the center of any conversation about Kashmir. Hope that we, the diaspora, can model what accountability and solidarity look like in these urgent times.

For Hindus for Human Rights, this is the heart of our mission: to stand with our neighbors, to speak truth in moments of silence, and to act—publicly and collectively—against violence committed in our names.

Coverage of the protest appeared in The Guardian, offering a glimpse into the powerful coalition that came together that day. You can read it here:
