Statement from Hindus for Human Rights on the Israeli Bombing of Iran and the Risk of Escalation
Hindus for Human Rights condemns Israel’s bombing of Iran. We are deeply alarmed by this dangerous military action and the terrifying spiral of violence it risks unleashing across the region and the world.
War is not security. Bombs do not bring peace. Every airstrike pulls us further away from the safety and dignity that all people deserve. This reckless escalation risks drawing the United States and other global powers deeper into a war that will only bring more suffering and death—especially to the most vulnerable communities already bearing the brunt of violence.
As people of faith and conscience, we offer our prayers for immediate de-escalation, an end to all bombing and military action, and a return to diplomacy and international law. We call on global leaders to step back from the brink and prioritize peace, not power.
In a time of deepening authoritarianism, ethno-nationalism, and disregard for human life, we remain committed to the path of ahimsa—nonviolence—as both a moral principle and a political necessity.
