Description:
Religions for Peace USA presents a conversation exploring interfaith engagement at Florida International University and how Jain and Islamic ideas of peace — ahimsa (nonviolence) and salaam (peace) — have been examined in dialogue. The program will consider the role dharmic traditions can play, in conversation with Islam, in developing new methods of conflict resolution.

The featured speaker, Prof. Dr. Iqbal Akhtar (Florida International University), is an academic and public intellectual working at the intersection of religious studies and international relations.

Zoom registration is required but complimentary. Live Spanish translation will be available on Zoom.
