As religious nationalism grows in the United States and around the world, Faith Beyond Religious Nationalism invites us to begin interfaith dialogue with an honest examination of our own traditions. This gathering will explore how faith can be distorted to justify exclusion and how truth-telling, confession, repentance, and shared principles can help communities respond together.

The conversation features Peter Beinart, New York Times contributing opinion writer, editor-at-large of Jewish Currents, and author of Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza: A Reckoning; Sunita Viswanath, co-founder of Hindus for Human Rights; and the Rev. John J. Thatamanil, Professor at Union Theological Seminary.

Imam Shamsi Ali, the Rev. Adriene Thorne, the Rev. Neal Christie, and the Rev. Peter Cook will also join the conversation. This is the first in a planned series of self-reflective dialogues across faith traditions.
