Hindus for Human Rights is proud to co-sponsor a virtual conversation with acclaimed Carnatic musician, writer, and public intellectual T.M. Krishna, hosted by Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

Drawing from his new book, We, The People of India: Decoding a Nation’s Identity & Values, Krishna will explore what it means to belong to India today, and how the country’s democratic, constitutional, cultural, and pluralistic traditions can help us imagine a more inclusive future.

Known for challenging caste hierarchy, religious majoritarianism, and exclusion within both Indian society and classical music, Krishna has long argued for a vision of India rooted in equality, dignity, artistic freedom, and the idea that the nation belongs equally to all its people.

Join us for a timely conversation about citizenship, democracy, identity, and the continuing struggle over what India is and whom it belongs to.
