NYC Rally in Solidarity with India’s Democracy
Sunday, October 18, 2026
12:00 PM ET
Gandhi Statue, Union Square, New York City

Join us in Union Square for a rally in solidarity with people across India defending democracy, equality and justice.

The gathering will feature remarks from Abby Govindan, Aatish Taseer, Shaifali Puri, Shruti Ganguly, Sunita Viswanath and Yashica Dutt, bringing together writers, artists, advocates and community voices for a public show of solidarity.

At a moment of growing concern over democratic backsliding, voter exclusion, women’s rights and the shrinking space for dissent, we are coming together to say that democracy must belong to everyone.

Come join us, bring a friend and help make this gathering visible.
