In the wake of violent incidents in West Bengal and Kerala, Hindus for Human Rights condemns the political violence that has swept across India after elections. Revenge attacks and post-poll violence, such as the recent attack on Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee in West Bengal, cannot be a feature of Indian democracy. Peaceful transfers of power are vital to India's endurance. |

Hindus for Human Rights UK, South Asia Solidarity Group, South Asian Liberation Movement, and the UK-Indian Muslim Council are calling on Gita Bhavan Temple in Manchester to reject any association with Hindutva-aligned organizations. At stake is a larger question for British Hindu communities: whether mandirs will remain spaces of worship, belonging, and pluralism, or become vehicles for the far-right politics of the RSS and its affiliates.

HfHR condemns this latest expression of anti-Indian, anti-Muslim, anti-Hindu, and anti-immigrant hostility in Texas, where an Indian flag was ripped to pieces near Frisco City Hall. From Frisco to Sugar Land, these incidents reflect a troubling effort to cast immigrants and religious minorities as outsiders in the places they call home. That message is false and dangerous. Texas is home to our communities, our families, our faiths, and our futures.

We're sharing an urgent joint statement signed by activists, academics, former public officials, artists, journalists, faith leaders, and civil society voices in India warning of a dangerous breakdown in democratic norms, rule of law, and institutional accountability. They're urging Indians across the world to speak out before the violence spreads further. |
