Our Values
“The heart is a blind object, sitting alone in a cage of bones. Eye, not heart, is the organ of compassion.” Picture of Hanumanji and caption by artist Amruta Patil.
1) Inclusive Hinduism
We support an egalitarian and inclusive Hinduism. We are committed to the dissolution of the historical oppressive structure of caste, and to the right to equality of Dalits/Bahujans/Adivasis.
2) Inquiry as Advocacy
We prioritize dialogue as a means of understanding and community-building, and advocacy as our path to action.
3) Fearlessness and Truth-telling
We seek information about current affairs from trusted sources on the ground and share fact-based information on our platforms.
4) Constant Creation and Replenishment
Through our work together, we honor the humanity of each other and everyone we connect with. We suggest and participate in creative solutions to the problems and injustices we perceive in the world.
If you would like to join our movement for human rights and social justice in the US, in India, and beyond, please message us on FB or email us at info@hindusforhumanrights.org.
Our Priorities
We provide a platform for progressive Hindu voices and to those working in India and the U.S. on civil liberties and minority rights.
We educate elected officials about the situation in India and add a Hindu voice of resistance to human rights violations across the globe.
We participate in peaceful democratic protest movements, write opinion pieces, and organize conferences and hearings.
