A Major Milestone for HfHR: Welcome Our New Deputy Executive Director, Sravya Tadepalli!

Sravya Tadepalli, HfHr’s new Deputy Executive Director

We are overjoyed to share that Sravya Tadepalli, a trusted voice and guiding presence in our movement since 2020, is stepping into a new role as Deputy Executive Director of Hindus for Human Rights. This moment is not just an exciting transition—it’s the culmination of years of thoughtful, values-driven leadership that Sravya has offered as a board member, writer, and advocate shaping HfHR’s vision, voice, and future.

From the start, Sravya has brought not only policy expertise and sharp political insight, but also compassion, clarity, and a grounded sense of dharma that has helped HfHR become a moral voice in the diaspora and beyond. She has led some of our most impactful initiatives—from launching our progressive Hindu calendar (now a beloved cornerstone of our annual programming), to steering state and local legislative advocacy in Oregon and Massachusetts, to designing Hinduism 101 trainings—all rooted in her own active engagement with her local Hindu community.

In every conversation, campaign, and community space, Sravya has brought an unmistakable blend of warmth, integrity, and rigor. She doesn’t just do the work—she uplifts the people around her, deepens our collective vision, and keeps us rooted in the reason we do this work: justice, love, and liberation for all.

Her writings in The India Forum, Scroll, and American Kahani reflect the same qualities—precise, principled, and fearless in naming how Hindu nationalism threatens not just democracy in India, but the soul of our faith itself. She’s also a 2024 graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Master’s in Public Policy program and a 2018 Harry S. Truman Scholar, accolades that only begin to speak to the depth of her commitment and capacity.

In many ways, this appointment is not a new chapter but a natural next step—a continuation of a journey we’ve been on together for years. With Sravya stepping into this new role, we are more ready than ever to meet the moment, to organize boldly, and to build the kind of progressive community—and the kind of world—we all deserve.

Please join us in celebrating Sravya’s leadership, vision, and heart. We could not be prouder, or more hopeful, for what’s to come.
