Celebrating 10 Years of Radical Love with Caribbean Equality Project
Friday Night our NYC organizers, Vrinda Jagota and Rohan Narine, joined in celebrating a milestone for our friends at Caribbean Equality Project — their 10-year Anniversary and inaugural gala, We Are Home: A Decade of Resistance and Belonging. @caribbeanequalityproject
It was a night of joy, bold fashion, and powerful storytelling. From rooftop cocktails overlooking Queens to moving speeches, unforgettable performances, and a dance floor that kept going until midnight — the evening embodied CEP’s vision of radical love and unapologetic belonging.
Highlights included:
A heartfelt speech from DJ Debbie, who shared her coming-out journey and the power of music to carry community forward. @djdebbiesoca
Electrifying ballroom performances from The House of Comme des Garçons (@thehouseofgarcons), reminding us of the artistry and resilience of ballroom culture.
Beautiful live performances from Alicia Love and others who brought the house down.
And of course: the looks! Black tie, Desi glam, rhinestones, and color everywhere — a true expression of our communities’ vibrance.
Congratulations to CEP on a decade of resistance, advocacy, and cultural power. We are honored to stand alongside you in the fight for justice, equity, and joy for LGBTQ+ Caribbean immigrants and all our neighbors.
