HfHR presents LOVE CHAOS KIN in New York City

On Tuesday, November 3 at 5 PM, join Hindus for Human Rights at DCTV Firehouse Cinema for a special screening of Chithra Jeyaram’s award-winning documentary Love Chaos Kin, followed by a conversation with director Chithra Jeyaram and HfHR co-founder Sunita Viswanath.

Filmed over eight years, Love Chaos Kin follows Indian immigrant Tamil parents and their white-presenting children as they build relationships with their children’s white birth mother and Native American birth father.

It is intimate, funny, complicated, and deeply interested in the ways family can cross boundaries of race, culture, identity, and biology.

At a moment when South Asian communities are confronting rising hate and increasingly rigid ideas about who belongs where, stories like this matter. They ask us to move beyond easy categories and toward something more expansive: kinship, curiosity, and the difficult work of seeing one another fully.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A focused on intersectionality and cross-cultural bridge-building.
